My betta crush is sick. I have tried water changes and different food. He builds bubble nests , doesn't eat , stays on the surface and lastly he lays on his side. I have a 1/2 gallon tank that I
clean every other day. I cannot afford fancy medince and other gadgets to take water stats. What should I do?

Happy Holidays! Although the current holiday will be Valentine's Day. I'm so glad to have found your site and read about your mission. It's badly needed. A pity that we're so far apart. This is
coming from Houston Texas. I also have a red betta (Scarlatti) who was recently moved from a one-gal vase to a new proper tank because he was sick and I didn't know better. (No, I won't say "betta".)
He's new to this environment and I'm treating him what I believe to be more than one condition. Just 24 hours and already my boy is moving and acting like he feels better. I'm reading your site
closely and have found several good practices that will be used. You're a permanent bookmark now. This is the best site I've found for bettas. Sorry that I didn't find you sooner. Scarlatti would not
have suffered so. I'll let you know how he does and am off to get some Zeolite media for his filter. All animal friends are important at any stage of life but when you're older, they become some of
your best friends. Thank you for the good facts and the good work you are doing. All my best for your endeavors!
